Remove Shared Documents from My Computer

If your computer is part of a Workgroup or have more than one user, you will notice that a Shared Documents folder appears in My Computer. This folder lets you share files with multiple users easily. If you want to remove this folder, or any other user document folder in my computer, you can:
Start the Registry Editor
Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ Explorer \
Right-click an empty space in the right pane and select New > DWORD Value
Name the new value NoSharedDocuments
Double-click this new value, and enter 1 as its Value data
Close the registry editor
Log off, or restart Windows for the changes to take effect

To reverse this process, change the Value data to 0, or delete the NoSharedDocuments Value.
