ShutDown at Preplanned Time

Post A Comment

This tweak is for users who want to shutdown your PC at a pre planned time without using any third party software.

You can schedule a time, allow a message to display before PC is shutdown and give some time for saving any files.

Do the following steps:

  • Go to Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Scheduled Tasks

  • Click Add a new Scheduled task.

  • Click next and select some program and set the time to schedule it.

  • At the last window, check Open advanced properties for this task when I click on Finish and press finish.

  • Now after the new window opens type in the following in the Run box:

  • Replace XX with time you want to give for saving files before shutting down, and YY with the message to display before shutting down.

  • In the 'start in'  box type: C:\WINDOWS  .

  • Check 'Run Only if Logged On'.

  • Select the time you want the PC to shutdown and click 'OK'.

Done!, now your PC shuts down at the time you have set.
